Flattening the result into the page is optional, so the form stays editable until you choose to save.

Frequently asked questions

Does filling work with official AcroForm PDFs?

Yes. If your PDF has real AcroForm fields, OpenPDF detects them automatically and turns them into proper text inputs, checkboxes, and dropdowns you can click and fill in place.

What if my PDF has no form fields?

You can still fill it. Use Add text to click anywhere on the page and type, or add checkmark and cross marks — no AcroForm required.

Do my files get uploaded?

Filling runs in your browser with pdf-lib, so the document content is not uploaded for processing. Separate optional services, if used, can have their own network and data conditions.

Why OpenPDF

OpenPDF is an independent project where PDF document processing runs in the browser using WebAssembly and modern JavaScript APIs. The toolkit includes merge, split, sign, organize, annotate, compress, watermark, page numbers, add image and fill forms. Practical limits depend on the operation, document and device. The page source and privacy policy describe consent controls, analytics, advertising and optional services before you use the tool with sensitive documents.
